Sharpening is the most important skill in hand tool woodworking. In this class you will learn how to consistently produce a razor sharp edge capable of cutting mirror smooth end grain shavings, and leaving a glossy finish-ready surface on the face of your boards. 

This class covers the following skills:

  1. Lapping (flattening the back of the blade)
  2. Grinding (grinding a new bevel)
  3. Honing (first step in sharpening)
  4. Polishing (final step in sharpening)
  5. Caring for your sharpening supplies
