FREE Community Event - Sharpening Basics

Sharp blades and smooth shavings

Sharpening is the most important skill in hand tool woodworking. In this class you will learn how to consistently produce a razor sharp edge capable of cutting mirror smooth end grain shavings, and leaving a glossy finish-ready surface on the face of your boards. 

This class covers the following skills:

1. Lapping (flattening the back of the blade)
2. Sharpening your blade

You are welcome to bring whatever blades, chisels, and sharpening supplies you have - material will provided for practice if you do not yet own any hand tools.
